Mend It Yourself — Saturday, September 6 · 12–2 PM
Grab Your Spot for 9/6Our Mend It Yourself Workshops are now in the studio! That means a smaller group, more hands-on help, and an even cozier space to slow down and stitch. I’ll guide you through a sewing machine demo, then we’ll mend together — with room to share the stories behind the garments you’ve brought.
Early bird pricing: $30 if you grab your ticket before August 23, then $45 after.

📍 Lucien E. Blackwell West Philadelphia Regional Library
Join local textile artist and seamstress Sarah Culbertson, founder of sustainable fashion brand Sarah Tremain, for a hands-on introduction to the Japanese art of Sashiko mending. Together, we’ll turn simple stitches into an act of care—for your clothes, your creativity, and our community.
You’ll leave with new skills, a renewed garment, and (while supplies last) a free sewing kit to keep the practice going at home. No experience necessary—just bring something to mend and an open heart to learn.

Bring that shirt with the missing button, the jeans with a tear, or the jacket that’s been waiting in your closet for “someday.” This is that day.
Join us for an evening of slow stitching, shared stories, and neighborhood connection. I’ll bring fabric scraps, hand-sewing supplies, and guidance for simple fixes like patching and button replacements. You bring your garments, your hands, and your presence.
This is a free, pay-what-you-wish gathering—tips or donations for our time and the store are welcome but never required. BYOB if you’d like, and settle in for a couple of hours of hands-on care, for clothes and for community.
Because sometimes mending a hem is just the start of mending so much more.

On October 12th at 12 PM, we’ll gather in my mom’s luminous studio space for a journey that blends mindfulness, self-expression, and slow fashion. Co-hosted with Lauren Holland — intuitive + healing catalyst at Makaristic.com — this experience begins with a guided meditation to help you tune in, name, and translate the emotions you’re carrying into a personal symbol.
From there, you’ll bring that symbol to life by painting it directly onto a garment or fabric panel using vibrant fabric paints or the traditional art of Batik — applying melted beeswax to protect parts of your design before dyeing, creating layered patterns, depth, and color. The result: a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable or displayable art that holds your story.
Pricing coming soon. All materials provided. No painting or sewing experience needed—just curiosity, presence, and something you’d love to make your own.
Because when you give your feelings shape and color, they can become something beautiful you carry forward.
