Q: What is Sarah Tremain?

A: Sarah Tremain is more than a fashion brand — it’s a studio rooted in storytelling, healing, and transformation. Founded by designer Sarah Culbertson, we create one-of-a-kind garments using upcycled materials and original prints derived from encaustic artwork by Sarah’s mother, Tremain Smith. Every piece is a conversation between memory and material, crafted with intention to honor sustainability, creativity, and the power of clothing to mend more than just seams.

Q: Where are you based?

A: We are proudly based in West Philadelphia, PA, where our studio hosts mending services, workshops, and custom clothing consultations.

Q: Are your products sustainably made?

A: Yes! Most garments are made using upcycled, deadstock, donated, or small-batch custom materials, print-on-demand processes, or handmade in-studio in West Philly. We prioritize low-waste design and environmentally conscious practices in every step.

Q: How do I know what size to order?

A: Check out our size chart. If you're unsure, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help you find the best fit.

Q: What does “made to order” mean?

A: Many of our pieces are made or printed when you order them to avoid overproduction and waste. This may result in slightly longer delivery times, but we promise it’s worth the wait.

🪡 Mending & Alterations

Q: How do your mending services work?

A: You can drop off or ship your item after booking a service through our site. We offer tonal repairs, decorative mending, basic alterations, and more. Turnaround time is typically 2 weeks.

Q: What if I need a specific alteration not listed?

A: Select “Custom Project” when booking and include a note. A $45 deposit applies and will be credited toward your final cost.

Q: Can I subscribe for regular mending?

A: Yes! We offer two subscription tiers that cover up to 6 garments per year and provide priority service, discounts, and even upcycling with our signature prints. Check our Mending Subscription page for details.

✨ Custom Clothing Consultations

Q: How can I book a custom project?

A: You can reserve a Custom Clothing Consultation at our Philly studio by purchasing the $200 deposit online. We’ll collaborate with you to design a one-of-a-kind piece using upcycled materials and Sarah’s signature artistic process.

📦 Shipping & Returns

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: At this time, we ship within the U.S. only. If you're abroad and interested, send us a message and we’ll see what we can do!

Q: How long will my order take to arrive?

A: Print-on-demand items usually ship within 7–10 business days. Handmade or mended items may take longer depending on the service but typically are either 2-4 or 4-6 weeks depending on what it is.

Q: What is your return policy?

A: Sarah Tremain is committed to ensuring your satisfaction with every purchase. If, for any reason, you are not completely happy with your order, please follow our 30-day return policy.

Return Eligibility:

1. Items must be returned within 30 days of the delivery date.

2. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in their original condition.

3. Tags and labels must be intact and attached to the garment.

4. Personalized, customized, or final sale items are not eligible for return.

How to Initiate a Return:

1. Contact our Customer Service team at info@sarahtremain.com to request a return authorization.

2. Provide your order number and a brief reason for the return.

3. Our team will guide you on the next steps, including the return address.

Return Shipping:

1. Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item received is defective or incorrect.

2. We recommend using a trackable shipping service to ensure the safe return of your items.

Processing Your Refund:

1. Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

2. If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will be applied to your original method of payment.

Exchanges:

We currently do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please follow the return policy steps, and place a new order for the desired item.

Damaged or Incorrect Items:

If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please email info@sarahtremain.com within seven days of receiving the order and include pictures of the damaged garment. We will arrange for a replacement or refund.
