Product Story

This concept was something the team has been talking about for a year because we want to make sure we use all our materials and keep as much material from landing in the trash.

There's also a symbolism to the patchwork effect of the totes that goes hand and hand with healing. You have to sometime piece together the broken parts of yourself to start to heal, and the result usually is something raw but beautiful.

Why It Costs What it Does

While these are made using scraps which don't cost us anything there is still labor that goes into sewing each one. Our production rate is $25 an hour and this one takes about an hour to make and then we have to multiply it by two so that we can continue to grow this brand

Details

Each tote is 15x14 with 34 inch straps pieced together using different scraps from previous projects and sewn together by strategically placing the scraps together to form 2 squares and using a zigzag stitch to create a patchwork effect. There is no lining but all edges are either finished by the overlock machine or pinking sheers to prevent snags or the bag from coming undone with use.

Each tote will be completely one of a kind not look exactly like what is pictured.
