5 Tiny Mending Wins That Changed the Way I Get Dressed

Healing isn’t always big or loud. Sometimes it’s fixing a hem and feeling whole again.

Over the years, I’ve fallen back in love with pieces I almost gave up on. Not because they were trendy or flattering. But because I gave them a second life—with a few stitches and a lot of heart.

Here are five quiet little mending wins that made me feel like a damn magician:

  1. A ripped pair of pants I patched with my mother’s artwork—now my power outfit for every market.

  2. Those same pair of pants I thought didn’t fit—until panels made them mine.

  3. A dress with holes and stains I added a decorative panels for a client to wear again.

  4. A clients’s thrifted coat I added panels too so they could wear it again.

  5. My brother's plaid shirt I mended to match.

These moments remind me that fashion doesn’t need to be fast to be powerful. Sometimes, healing a garment heals a part of you too.
